We have been largely overlooked historically, which has had a societal impact on our ability to access culturally relevant art work at affordable prices.. until now.
Ivhu® is the Home of Contemporary Black Art, and we are on a mission to get an art piece in every home that has an appreciation of our black history & culture.
At Ivhu® [meaning earth/soil in the Shona dialect of Zimbabwe] you can shop wall art and beautiful prints that are influenced by African & Black culture online. We are a black owned business and our collections are filled with stunning artworks that are digitally scanned and illustrations & photography prints that are produced to an exceptional quality. All our pieces come hand framed and ready to hang on your wall.
We developed a platform to bring together talented artists that produced contemporary, culturally relevant art that speaks to our generation. Good art should be Accessible!, so we did something about it. Having scoured the market for months trying to find works of art that were representative of our culture and generation, and failing! We realised that something had to change.
At Ivhu we regularly upload new works, and we exist to afford talented artists the opportunity to connect with an audience of their time.
We provide high quality, beautifully framed art prints that are affordable, yet offer so much more!
Hi, I’m Terrence
I founded Ivhu Art back in 2019 during the pandemic, we all went through a period where we were stuck in doors, and like many of you i took on a home renovation project to make my family space just that little bit better.
After doing all the painting and decorating it was time to put the finishing touches, I have always had a passion for art & music, spending my time at home playing the piano or browsing art catalogues, but I found a fundamental flaw with the accessibility of contemporary black art. I for one did not have the resources to spend thousands of pounds on original works of art which I love, but often found more affordable art prints online, but none of them were representative of my African heritage and culture. I wanted my home to be a representation of my family history, cultural background and inspire conversation deeply rooted in our collective
identity. I believe a home without art is like rice without plantain (emphasis on AIN), but we will save that debate for a different day.
Ivhu was subsequently born, whatever brought you here, I hope you find art that will inspire you and truly resonates with the beauty and vibrancy of our heritage.

We also focus on emerging talents of black & african heritage for two reasons.
1) Economic Empowerment, affording our roster of artists the opportunity to earn from their incredible works.
2) Cultural visibility, giving you a platform where you can access and enjoy these beautiful works of black art in your own home.
